Joshua “Sketch” Fleszar

Hello! I am a 2D, 3D, and Stop-Motion Animator, as well as an Illustrator, Creative Writer, and Storyboard Artist. I’m currently enrolled at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, and I’m majoring in Entertainment Arts. As of now, I’m spending my time drawing or playing around in TVPaint. While I mainly animate traditionally in 2D, I’m always down to learn a new craft on my own to expand my skills or help me in projects.

Most of my inspiration comes from late 90’s animation and early 2000’s animation from networks like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, but I’m also very fascinated in the “Golden Age of American Animation” with some animators making a huge impact on me. I’ve also been very influenced by various online animators and content creators from Newgrounds to YouTube since I was young, as working in Adobe Flash was always something that made me feel like my aspirations in art were obtainable.

In my free time, I like to drive around and hang out with my friends whenever they’re available; sometimes just to walk around or go places to just talk. When I’m alone, I tend to read philosophy, manga, comics, and whatever is on my Twitter feed. I play a ton of video games, specifically Super Smash Bros, and have been in the competitive community since 2015, where I’ve run plenty of for-profit and non-for-profit tournaments to bring everyone together. If anyone reading this plays Sheik in Melee, then hit me up. I need the practice.

Please feel free to browse around and check out some of my art from over the years, and remember, you’re my number one customer.
